Random.org, a post on how I prioritize when I’m stuck

Have you ever just wanted to craft all day, but you really should cook or clean? Should I take time to blog, or organize my craft supplies or vacuum for the next hour? Answer: I go to random.org I type in a list of all the things I could/should be doing:

  • Vacuum playroom
  • wash kitchen floor
  • blog the card I made
  • organize my metal dies
  • Make muffins
  • make soup
  • List an item on ebay

Then hit the randomize button! and here is the result:

There were 7 items in your list. Here they are in random order:

  1. organize my metal dies
  2. make soup
  3. Vacuum playroom
  4. blog the card I made
  5. wash kitchen floor
  6. Make muffins
  7. List an item on ebay

Now I use this list to get started! I take no more then 1 hour at each task, and if it’s getting too late in the day and I really need to do something (like dinner) then I bump that up on the list of priorities. I hope this idea inspires you! I’m going to organize my metal dies now ~

*Update at 4:13PM: I organized my dies for an hour, then made soup and vacuumed the playroom. I’m going to blog the card I made yesterday now and do #5 wash kitchen floor tomorrow. once I’m done with #7 a new listing on ebay, I’ll go back to organizing my dies etc. Maybe you’ll give a try next time you can’t decide what to do first!
