T is for Tea & High Maintenance

Happy Tuesday! I’m enjoying my cup of Peppermint tea on this foggy morning in Virginia. I love the little tag quotes that come with “Traditional Medicinals” tea. Today’s quote: Beauty is not caused, it is. -Emily Dickenson

Now to remember to remove the tag before throwing out the bag so I can craft with it later!

Altered book lover: T gang entry (cheers to my first post with new reads!)

I made a card this morning too while enjoying my hot beverage…

I’ve had this stamp for years from when I sold The Angel Company Stamps (TAC). My hubby and I are coming up on our 20 year wedding anniversary this summer, and this will be my card for him. I better explain…My sister when she found out we were engaged said to my future husband “you know…she’s high maintenance right?” Well, he has never let me live this one down. The challenge at Double Trouble and the sketch at Try Stamping on Tuesday got me started by requesting something piled high. I remembered this poor man carrying all his wife’s packages and went on finding bits to match from there. I’m really not that bad… besides most of my shopping is online so he only has to carry out empty boxes (Hehehe!)

  1. Karen, so glad you came back to see what Double Trouble was up to this challenge. Love your story behind the card you created…great image and coloring and love the sentiment. Great papers for a man card. Thanks for sharing with us again at Double Trouble and TSOT.

  3. Love your card Karen- and it’s perfect for your anniversary considering the cute story you shared:). Double the pleasure when tea bag tags have quotes on them- great recycle for use in art! Thanks for sharing , and happy T day!

  4. Greetings, Karen. Welcome to our little T Tuesday group. I’m sure you’ll find some very sweet and friendly people here.

First, I love your card. I had to laugh at it and how you created it. Those boxes were stacked really high. I enjoyed the back story, too.

I really enjoyed seeing your beautiful tea cup and tea. I know TAZO brand has little sayings and words of encouragement on their teabag tags, but I had no idea they were also on organic traditional medicinals. What a great find. Several of us save the labels and the spent bags to use in our art, so I look forward to seeing what you do with this beautiful quote. Thanks for sharing your darling anniversary card and your tea and tea bag label with us for T this Tuesday. Hope to see you back again next week, too.

  5. Such a clever card design, Karen! Love that you “thought outside of the box” and placed the stack of gifts inside the circle. Thank you for playing along with us at Double Trouble #50 and Try Stampin’ on Tuesday #445.

  8. I’ve never seen tea bag tags with quotes. That is a novel idea. (We have quotes on sugar bags though).
I loved the background story on the ‘High Maintenance’ card. It’s absolutely perfect! Happy anniversary in advance.
    Happy T-Day,

  9. Super fun card, Karen! I think all of us are “high maintenance” at some point in our life. Thank you for using our Try Stampin’ on Tuesday sketch with the Double Trouble addition of a tall and skinny card with stacked items. Your stamp is perfect for both challenges!!! Thank you for sharing your creativity with us at TSOT!!! -Donna
