T is for Thrift Store Score

Hello and Happy Tuesday to Blackbeard and Elizabeth and the T Gang! Last week I made a point to go out for coffee so I could show you one of our shops and my Americano drink at the Roast Rider. I went thrift shopping and found a bag of stickers for .99! I also found a new book called “Celebrating the Land” with Women’s Nature writings, which sounds wonderful and inspirational. The book with the music notes on the cover was intended to write your own sheet music, but I’m going to use it for a future art journal, it retailed for $19.98 and I bought it for $1.98! The wallpaper border is of colorful fish for .75 that I thought I would cut up and use for future cards or a journal page.

We went to visit my oldest daughter Katie in Raleigh NC this weekend as she is house hunting and we wanted to see the prospect. We went for a walk in the park and enjoyed our quick overnight visit. Stay well everyone & Enjoy your week ~

Hello! I'm a 50 something wife and mother of two girls ~ I started Blogging in March of 2011 on Blogger and just converted to WordPress in Dec 2019. I started paper crafting in 1995 when I first tried embossing with powder, I was so excited and couldn't believe it was so easy to make something so beautiful. Creativeseconds was started as a way of selling secondhand craft supplies and cards on Ebay and Etsy. You will find creative cards, tags, and paper crafting projects here as well as craft room organizational ideas. Follow along with me and comments are welcomed and appreciated.

  4. What a lovely post Karen! So nice to see where you had coffee – love that mug and the Roast Rider logo is card inspiration for sure. What a brilliant haul you got from the thrift shops too. I’m sure you’ll have great fun with that. Lovely to see your family photo and good luck to your daughter with her house hunting. You could always get Wilson on the case: “Wilson – find it!” LOL!

  8. OMGosh, Karen. How did I miss this post? I think I need an Americano right now. I am SO, SO sorry I missed your link today.

Roast Rider sounds like an amazing place. I only use beans that are sustainably sourced. I take it they roast their own beans there. It sounds like a great place to have a cup of coffee (or even tea).

You SCORED on those stickers. I am totally impressed. I’ve purchased stickers before and even on clearance, I didn’t get the quantity, quality, or diversity you got. I’m sure you are going to use them in your art, too.

My friend Joseph writes music and he purchased one of those pads for writing scores. He would FLIP if I told him what you paid for yours.

Now that we’ve met Wilson, it’s great to meet Katie and your family. It’s good to put a face with a name. You have a lovely family and I hope Katie finds a property she will love and can match her budget.

Thanks beyond belief for taking us to Roast Rider for an Americano and to the thrift store for incredible finds. Again my apologies for overlooking your link today.
