T stands for Rainbows, unicorns, bunnies, and butterflies

Grab button for T stands for Tuesday

Hello! I’ve been adjusting to being home bound like everyone else and haven’t posted in awhile. I started scrapbooking all my old printed photos and even created a photo book online of our family trip to St. John, V.I. this past Christmas.

I wanted to join in with the T gang and enjoy my second cup of coffee for today. This mug was a yard sale find for $1 ~ The owners were downsizing and somehow this beauty didn’t make the cut, lucky me!

In VA schools are closed for the rest of the school year and we are observing social distancing. We can still walk for exercise as long as we stay 6 ft. apart. Many people are working from home. My husband still goes into the office and out on the field everyday, so I’m hoping and praying we all stay healthy. I took these pictures on my walk today:

This Wisteria is in one of my neighbors yards! the bees are soooo happy.
Dogwoods are one my favorite spring flowers.

This card was made for my great niece who is turning 6 soon. At Always Fun Challenges the current request is to create a card with a rainbow.

Get Creative Challenges has a bingo board where you pick three items to create with so I chose embossing, patterned paper, and foil. The rainbow and unicorn came from Hobby Lobby in a pack of assorted die cuts. The embossing sentiment and pattern paper are both from Stampin’ Up!. The “6” was die cut out of silver foil, and I added washi tape to the side of the card to add more sparkle.

I also created a Bunny and Butterfly tag for Tag Tuesday. I stamped the butterfly on the tag and added heart die cuts out of patterned paper for the wings.

Here are two inchies today since I almost missed last week:

Nest Inchie for Every Inchie Monday
Spring Inchie for Every Inchie Monday

Thanks for reading ~ stay well, and craft on!

  1. what a cute, cute birthday card and tag! And that wisteria- be still my heart. I only know of one home around my area that has wisteria and I don’t think it’s blooming yet. I guess there’s a lot of it in VA…stay well, and happy T day!

  5. FIrst off, that unicorn card is adorable and would have my 4y.o. daughter squealing. She so loves unicorns.

Wisteria has always been one of those plants that I would love to have and whenever I see it I stop and gaze and look longingly. Maybe someday. Your neighbor has a beautiful plant there!

That mug was a fabulous find for a $1. It looks handmade and the glaze is beautiful! I say you got an excellent deal.

Sounds like you are getting a lot of scrapbooking done. I am hoping to get some trips done as well. It seems like those are always at the bottom of my to-do list because they are not as fun to make.Since I already had the vacation, I already experienced the fun. Not so with other art projects that your mind dreams up. The fun is in the making. Make lots of art.
    Happy Tea Day,
    Kate

  6. The Massachusetts governor just extended the non-essential business closure from April 6 to May 4. He closed the schools until May. I think things will keep changing as his team make their assessments. I’m grateful for his leadership. The wisteria looks gorgeous! I have some fake wisteria that I put in pots outside in my window boxes 😺The tags and card are so sweet. Bet the unicorn will be a big hit. Take care and Happy T Day

  8. I don’t scrapbook, but I would love to see some of what you do. I’m always interested in any art form.

I absolutely LOVE your mug. It looks handmade and I bet it cost a bundle new. Lucky, lucky you, Karen.

Your unicorn card is adorable. I bet the six year old recipient will love it. Your tag is also wonderful. It is clever and has a really cute bunny.

Thanks for sharing your card, your tag, and your incredible mug with us for T this Tuesday, Karen. Sorry I am late. Yep, got kicked offline again this morning. I hate ATT because the internet is my lifeline right now.

  9. Our schools are closed too but right now only until May 4. I think that is going to change. And I love your art. I am working from home so when I finish the day I am often too tired to craft. Why is it going into work is less exhausting at the end of the day? You walk photos are beautiful-you really have spring. And nice mug find. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

  10. What a fabulous post! I loved seeing your yard, the flowers look amazing 😁. Wow, your one dollar mug is so beautiful, you got a real bargain there! I’m loving your cards too 😀. The rainbow design with the unicorn is perfect, I’m sure your neice will love it! Then there’s that super cute bunny and happy spring inchie, which are both gorgeous and capture Spring beautifully! Wishing you a Happy T Day, stay safe and well! Hugs, Jo x

  11. Love all of your photos of the flowers, Wisteria is so beautiful and so is your garden, ours is mainly tiles as we really couldn’t justify all the water it would take to grow grass in Spain, when it rains as it has now the fields are so green, I’m missing seeing that being in lockdown as it’s always a good sight!
That’s a gorgeous card and your Niece will love it I’m sure. I started making scrap books of our trips with DGSs, I’m very slow as I always want to put far too many photos on one page as I can never choose which ones
    Keep safe Jan x

  12. Oh what a lovely card for a 6 year-old. She will love the unicorn and the rainbow. I am impressed with the embossed letters (and number 6), I always seem to get embossing powder everywhere even though I try to brush it away.
Your inchies are gorgeous and the tag is beautiful.
    Take care, stay safe,
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca.

  13. Such a sweet bunny and butterfly tag – I love those simple images with the open white space – so fresh. The inchies are great – especially the nest – and I’m sure your great-niece will love her magical unicorn. The wisteria is also magical, and I love that mug – it looks as though it has a similar glaze to my favourite mug, though a completely different shape.

  14. What a gorgeous card! Perfect for a 6 year old, who I am sure will love it!
We enjoyed looking at neighbourhood gardens the other day – it will be get to see the progress. We felt safer walking there than by the river where most folk seemed to be a few days before.
    Love those tags and Inchies!
    Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx

  15. Sorting through the photos and doing some scrapbooking sounds like a very good use of time Karen. I love your beautifully detailed unicorn card – so perfect for your 6 year old great niece. The tag is lovely too – the heart wings are so clever! – and your inchies, I especially like the nest one. Thanks for taking us on a photographic walk with you – looks like Mother Nature is ignoring our corona virus battle and just carrying on. Weren’t you lucky to bag that mug? It looks one of a kind and was an excellent find. Lovely to see what you’ve been up to. Take care won’t you. Vicky x
