Recycled Fishy Card and Journal Page

Hello! I was inspired by Elizabeth at Altered Book Lover to use recycled items in your artwork. The background of this card is made out of a tissue box and the bubbles are a flattened metal pen spring.

This bottle cap was new, but you can smash one from a soda and do the same. I used a one inch circle and stamped the image and filled it in with crystal effects (my ink bled some so make sure you use permanent ink). The fish and reef you might remember are from the wallpaper I salvaged from the thrift store a couple weeks back. The background goes with the geometric theme happening at Art Journal Journey this month, but I won’t link this entry since it’s not a journal page.

My journal page is for Rain’s Thursday Art Date where the theme is to use a stencil. I thought these images were spring like and sweet so I used sponge daubers and ink to create my page. I added scripture, and some encouraging words to complete my entry. Stay home and keep crafting!

  1. Hi Karen! Love the beautiful recycled art, those fishes look so cheery, just what we need right now. And the journal page is wonderful, with a meaningful and comforting quote, something we all need, too. Have a great day, take care, stay safe. Hugs, Valerie
