Happy Anniversary, and Friday Smiles

I needed to make an Anniversary card for hubby, so I looked to the challenge blogs for inspiration. The sisterhood of crafters: requested stenciling, The Male Room requested the use of die cuts, and Freshly Made Sketches, provided the sketch:

Since it will be 20 years that we have been wed, I wanted to use the color platinum. I love the Stampin’ Up set called “Going Global” and thought the sentiment “You are my greatest adventure” set the scene for a nautical/travel theme card. I used colored pencil for the stencil, then decided I wanted it a darker blue. I went over it with Ranger’s embossing pen and thought it was clear… but It was black! Thankfully, I still really like the way it turned out.

We can’t forget some Friday Smiles too!

Enjoy the Weekend!

Hello! I'm a 50 something wife and mother of two girls ~ I started Blogging in March of 2011 on Blogger and just converted to WordPress in Dec 2019. I started paper crafting in 1995 when I first tried embossing with powder, I was so excited and couldn't believe it was so easy to make something so beautiful. Creativeseconds was started as a way of selling secondhand craft supplies and cards on Ebay and Etsy. You will find creative cards, tags, and paper crafting projects here as well as craft room organizational ideas. Follow along with me and comments are welcomed and appreciated.

  1. Your card is beautiful, Karen. I think you created a real beauty and I’m sure your husband will LOVE it. I know I do. Very creative for all the challenges you met, too.

Thanks for recommending Pinterest for ICADs, but I’m not looking for inspiration. I’m only on blogger and no other social media site. I want to know if there are people I know in blogland who may be sharing ICADs and I’m not aware of them. Lynn told me Mo was, so I’m hoping Mo contacts me, because she hasn’t updated her blog in 4 years (she’s on my left sidebar). Thanks, anyway, dear. Have a super rest of the weekend. BTW, I can’t see the funnies. They are just blank boxes. Obviously, Angela could, though.

  2. A great card. What an excellent design. Happy anniversary!
I love all the smiles that people post on a Friday, even if I don’t usually get to see them until Saturday! They still make me smile. Kate x
