You’re in my prayers

At the Altered Book Lover we take a second look at one of our old blog posts. Here is a second look at a post from July 2, 2015:

Creativeseconds

first I found CRAFT Challenge # 318 “embossing” then I found Crafty Ribbons #122 “anything goes… with a ribbon” so I searched for one more inspirational element and found In the Pink #72 “vintage shabby pink” whenever I hear pink and ribbon my first thought is breast cancer awareness.  I had a biopsy awhile back and it came back benign, Others however aren’t always as fortunate and the need for encouragement is eminent.   I found the word “courage” and “hope” comforting along with the word”Prayer”.  The bow is a discarded child’s hair bow that I took the back off of and attached a safety pin with beads and a charm.  I used a vintage doily and stamped “You’re in my prayers”.  I added a pink heart confetti piece for added love.

Hello! I'm a 50 something wife and mother of two girls ~ I started Blogging in March of 2011 on Blogger and just converted to WordPress in Dec 2019. I started paper crafting in 1995 when I first tried embossing with powder, I was so excited and couldn't believe it was so easy to make something so beautiful. Creativeseconds was started as a way of selling secondhand craft supplies and cards on Ebay and Etsy. You will find creative cards, tags, and paper crafting projects here as well as craft room organizational ideas. Follow along with me and comments are welcomed and appreciated.

  1. What a gorgeous card, so elegant and feminine with the lace and bow. Pink was the ONLY colour my daughter would wear when she was small, so she would have loved a card like this. Have a good week, stay safe, hugs, Valerie

  2. A constant fear we sadly have to live with.
One friend survived breast cancer. I lost both parents to cancer… “We” attempt to fly to Mars but cancer we have no control of.
Very nice card, too, full of hope.

  3. Beautiful card! I really love it
Let us know how you liked the recipe-these gluten free cake mixes are perfect for upside down cake too-with blackberries really good. I have changed my baking quite allot this year-using more keto friendly recipes. I have celiac but the gluten free flour blends are soooo full of carbs I just never had any idea of that before-part of the reason I think I couldn’t keep the weight off as I have gotten older.
Happy second on the 2nd Hugs Kathy

  4. Oh how I love this card. I had a friend die four years ago of breast cancer. She was the mother of the children who normally visit me every summer. I have another friend who has breast cancer and has gone through chemo twice. Now she has swelling on the brain and I think the cancer has migrated, but I don’t say anything. This card holds a special meaning to me, dear Karen. Thanks for making it your second look on the 2nd, even though it’s a first look for me.
