Nautical Wedding card,T stands for Gatorade, and inchie

Happy T day to Elisabeth and everyone that joins in on Tuesday’s.

I saw an ad on facebook for jewelry at Beachware.co. I don’t normally shop that way, but the wave necklace was so cute I thought I would get a few as Christmas gifts.

I spotted this hook necklace and thought of my daughter’s best friend Kristin. Kristin and her fiance love to go fishing together, and are getting married this weekend. I decided to make it as part of the card. My time to craft’s current challenge is a “summer wedding” theme, so I will enter my card there. I used navy nautical background knotted paper, with “Mr & Mrs” die cut from pearlescent paper, and layered on grey cardstock.

This is what the back looks like before I attached it to the card stock. I used a plastic ATC sleeve, put the chain in and held it in place with washi tape and the sticky strip on the envelope.

I also wanted to share that I made the Gluten Free cake from the recipe that Kathy of Kathyinozarks shared with the group back on July 13th (find recipe HERE). I made mine with Blueberries, and used eggs instead of the alternative. It was soooo yummy and light and everyone enjoyed it! I skipped the almonds because we had children eating and added a lemon glaze.

The T group also did an Artist Trading card exchange this month:

Here is the ATC I sent to Sharon of Foxy Stamping and she did a wonderful post of appreciation.
Here is my ATC from Erika of Bioartgal for the exchange.
~ A cup along with an envelope full of joy for me! ~
Erika sent lot’s of extras and here are some of my favorites ~ Especially the beautiful tag! Thank you again Erika!
thank you also to Elizabeth for helping us to be creative together and share our art.
Every Inchie Monday: Theme is Swimming. This is actually just a sticker on a scrap paper, but it looks hand drawn I think.

My drink of choice today is a huge cup of ice and a Gatorade, I walked over 3 miles in heat and humidity this AM and tea is not going to quench my thirst this morning!

Thank you for stopping by ~ Keep crafting and stay well and hydrated friends!

  1. The wedding card is very clever., and if you hadn’t said anything, I would have thought your inchie was hand drawn. Still very cute. Fun goodies to use in your art, too. Take care and stay cool

  3. Talk about the perfect gift for the bride – that’s wonderful, Karen. I’m sure they’ll both love it.

The cake looks delicious. Both ATCs are lovely. The goodies from Erika look like hours of fun ahead.

    Darling inchie, just darling!

Happy T-day and have a lovely week! Hugs, Eileen

  4. I have this theory about my internet. It knows exactly when it’s Monday at 4 pm, so it immediately goes offline. ATT said they’d send someone Tuesday morning between 8 and noon. Looks like they did, since I’m now online.

Your gift to the bride and groom is wonderful. I love how you captured the necklace in the back, too. Very clever indeed.

I like those waves, too. They remind me of the 4Ocean bracelet I bought for Sally for her birthday one year.

Your inchie is clever. You always come up with the most fun inchies. I really like this one, even if it’s a sticker.

I love the ATC you sent to Sharon and I was most impressed with the postage stamps you sent her. I hope she finds a way to use them in her art. I know I would know how to use them (grin),

And of course, I love the ATC and gifts Erika sent you. She is always so very, very generous with the gifts she sends to people. Believe me, she has given me more gifts over the years than I can possibly count. She is a gem.

Sounds like you must have needed the Gatorade. You walked further in a morning than I probably walk all week. Thanks for sharing your ATCs, wedding card, inchie, and Gatorade on ice with us for T this Tuesday, dear Karen.

  5. What amazing gifts! I’m sure they’ll be much loved 😊. The cake that you made looks so yummy, I could do with a slice with my cuppa today. I’m loving the ATC that you made too, the turquoise and brown colour palette is gorgeous and I’m loving the pilots god teacup – stunning! Such fabulous goodies and ATC from Erika too 😀. Happy 7th Anniversary and T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x

  6. Hope you like the T card and the little add ons. I do like that nautical wedding card. It came out great and what a nice idea to add that necklace. It looks great on the card. And your cake sounds delicious. I am going to do some baking with blueberries tomorrow. Hope you had a wonderful T day. Hugs-Erika

  7. That’s a very clever use of the fish-hook necklace! My husband has been doing all the baking — he’s really doing great bread these days, but I’m determined to make some good cakes. I wouldn’t use that recipe, though, as we have no problem with gluten, and wheat flour does make great cakes if you can tolerate it.

  8. What great ideas for presents. And so appropriate for the person/couple involved. Well done for finding those.
Your cake looks very yummy. I have never done any of Kathy’s recipes as she uses all sorts of strange, for me unobtainable, ingredients. I will stick to traditional cakes. Fortunately we have no gluten problems. (I say fortunately as most people in my hubby’s family are coeliacs)
Your inchie is gorgeous. Yes, it does look hand drawn.
The ATCs are fabulous. Yours as well as Erika’s. And she sent you some nice goodies too.
Well done for walking 3 miles this morning. I walk twice a week with my friend and most days a bit as I live in a village and can walk to the shops.
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca
