From CAS Beach to Christmas

I’m all over the calendar today from the snow and mitten days of winter, to the hot summer beach days!

Yesterday, I started working on Christmas tags for the challenge at Tag Tuesday. I was in Hobby Lobby recently and they have all the Christmas decorations out already. Normally I would be excited, but I’m thinking in VA anyway that this pandemic is going to limit the travel and normal festivities of the holiday this year. I’m still going to work on some Tags, but my Christmas wrapping party at the church will more then likely be canceled for 2020 😦

I’m Pressing on and creating anyway ~ here are the tags that I created:

This was made with gold foil stickers which I found really hard to take off the paper and place straight on my tag ~ But I got it semi where I wanted it!
The penguins are from vintage recycled wrapping paper I found at the thrift store. I love it because it means not only did the person save it for all those years, but after not reusing it, donated it for someone like me to play with instead of sending it to the landfill. I die cut card stock and the paper into ovals and added a line of washi tape and stamped “To & From”.
Here is my first paper cluster inspired tag .
This cupcake someone else made and gifted to me, so I recycled it into a new tag.
This image was on a card that I fussy cut out and added string to.

Next I found three challenges to join this morning:

The Joy of Sets: Splash, Sand & Blue.

AAA Cards: Beach scene along the edge.

Allsorts: Make it masculine.

Creative process: testing colors and stamps and playing around.
I taped off the edge and sponged blue sky and water first then stamped the sand. I stamped the wave and the rider (didn’t wait) and kind of blended more blue around. I added the Crystal drops and used the embossing heat gun to dry. Then added sparkle with a white gelly roll pen that I think you can see below. Lastly I added the birthday sentiment to this CAS, male, beachy, themed card.
All the supplies I used: Stampin Up Delightful Dijon, Apricot Appeal, Pacific Point and Bashful blue ink. Ride the Wave stamps by Taylored Expression. Sand by Stampin up and Posh Impressions. Wave is from Stamp Franciso. Nuvo Crystal drops and white gelly roll pen for the splash.

Thanks for stopping by and blessings on your week ahead!

  4. A great card for our tic tac toe grid – I love seeing all those lovely tags too – those penguins are adorable – what a great find. Yes I think Christmas will be a different scenario here in the UK too – as long as I can still see family I’ll be happy. Thanks for joining us at JOS this month – hope to see you again next month.
