Autumn Stacked Clusters and Renovations

I’ve been playing with my Autumn embellishments for “What’s on your work desk Wednesday”

The idea for this project came from a video by ARTYmaze that you can watch HERE. I like her idea of working on wax paper with double sided tape so your clusters will stick and store nicely. I used lace, ribbon, buttons, postage, charms, fabric and rubber stamps to create these fun little journal embellishments.

Regarding the house renovations, we have new walls! cabinets come a week from today and that’s when the real “camping” begins. Hoping I can cope with it, starting to feel the stress already of all the mess and workers coming and going.

The city of Va Beach is opting to have the kids go back to school face to face starting on Tuesday, so we will see how that works out as well. Thank goodness I have a craft room to hide in with a portable teapot! ~ Enjoy the rest of the week.

Hello! I'm a 50 something wife and mother of two girls ~ I started Blogging in March of 2011 on Blogger and just converted to WordPress in Dec 2019. I started paper crafting in 1995 when I first tried embossing with powder, I was so excited and couldn't believe it was so easy to make something so beautiful. Creativeseconds was started as a way of selling secondhand craft supplies and cards on Ebay and Etsy. You will find creative cards, tags, and paper crafting projects here as well as craft room organizational ideas. Follow along with me and comments are welcomed and appreciated.

  1. Oh dear, a craft room and a portable tea pot sounds ominous, I hope it won’t be that bad. I LOVE your autumn clusters and decorations, it’s my fave season, so it makes me very happy. Hope all goes well with school begin. The kids all seem to be doing well back at school here, the little girl upstairs is totally happy that she can go to school again! Have a good week, look after yourself, hugs, Valerie

  2. Hi Karen. Those little embelishments are lovely – well done. Oooo… those new walls look good, and are going to give you lots of open space in your home. I have just finished decorating my lounge, so spent a fair few weeks in a complete muddle – but was amazed at how quickly everything came back together again once I was finished! Take heart – you’ll get there.
    Take care. God bless.

  3. I had a new kitchen installed at the start of the year and remember that it has to get worse before it gets better! Just keep focussing on your beautiful new kitchen. Those embellishments are gorgeous, especially the leaf and the postage stamp examples, I love autumn!

  4. Hi Karen, oooh refurbishments in progress. How exciting! Love the shots of your table, I could happily sit there and craft for hours! Shame there are several thousand miles separating us! I’m assuming from the stamp you are in Canada. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #11

  5. Hope all the remodel goes well! Just look forward to how nice it will be!
Love your card candy! The leaf one with the yellow circle reminds me of an eye.
Your desk is so nicely busy and creative!

  6. When you’ve got somewhere to hide and a teapot everyone else can get on with whatever they have to do. I hope the children get back to school okay. Here in the UK the children are back but already there have been some classes having to isolate. I am absolutely sure you will be pleased with the renovations once it’s completed, looks great so far. Have a lovely woyww with hugs, Angela x16x

  7. You have an amazing space to create in Karen and so light to help lead that creative way. Beautiful Autumnal makes, i’m another who has to admit it’s my most favoured season. Good luck with the refurbs, the kettle will keep you hydrated whilst the work people get on with the job, will be awesome when finished.

  8. Ouch, my neck! LOL! Love you desk. In my old house mine was similarly located in front of a sunny window. I loved it. The new (ok so 4 years old for us) house is also in front of a window but the angle of the sun is ALL WRONG. Oh well, I love your clusters too, and the double stick tape storage. What a great tip and it reminds me why I love WOYWW!

    cheers

  9. Love your stacked clusters, Karen – so pretty. The house renovations seem to be coming along a treat. It is a pain having builders in and they make such a mess, but it’s worth it in the end! I’m sure it’s going to be lovely. Thank you for your visit. I was amused at your comment that crooked bread tastes just as good! It does taste pretty good, but it’s a bit dense!

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  10. Renovations is not a word I like. I had a new kitchen installed four years ago and coped so well with the mess but had a great team of workmen so they made the journey a good one and now I LOVE my kitchen, it is my pride and joy BUT …
Two years ago we had a new bedroom installed, I planned it with the designer and was prepared to fall in love with it. It took the workmen ages and all the time we slept in the spare room on our own mattress piled high on top of the spare room one. It took ages and when finished we had lots of cleaning to do and then as I was putting some clothes in my new wardrobe, so pleased with it, my back went. Two years down the line I have chronic back pain, it will never be right. So that is why Renovations is not good for me.
I just hope yours goes as smoothly as my kitchen went and you have many happy hours in what looks as if it is going to be a delightful room or two.
My word, you must love Autumn – that is one heck of a lot of lovely autumnal designs you have there. Keep crafting – it keeps you sane.
    Hugs, Neet 12 xx
ps can you leave your number at the end of your post so I can find you easier next time – thanks x
