Woyww, white on white Elf

Joining in again with the crew at the Stamping Ground to show What’s on my work desk this Wednesday. I decided to enter two card challenges this morning. One at Let’s Squash It where you need to use an embossing folder, and the other at Sparkles Monthly where the theme is white on white.

The embossing folder is by Cuttle Bug, Provo craft and the Elf is by Tim Holtz for Sizzix called “Santa’s Helper”. Every time I make a white on white card I wonder why I don’t make them more often, I think they turn out so elegant.

Here is the work desk with embossing folder, stamps, die, glue, pop dots and paper.
Here you can see I die cut the elf twice and added pop dots to make him more dimensional.
The other thing I did was use a glossy/shiny white paper so that he would stand out a little better.
I went with the sentiment “celebrate” so that he could be used for a winter birthday or a holiday greeting card.

Thanks for popping by! ~ Enjoy the season ~

**Update: I was a runner up winner for this card!**

  1. I love your white-on-white, Karen. As you say, it’s so elegant. I love how you’ve made it so 3-D which makes such interesting shadows and the texture of the embossing is great, too. Thank you for your visit – glad you enjoyed the kitties, real and crochet! I used my new blender twice today and it’s brilliant – much better than the old one, so I’m really pleased.

  3. This card is so stylish I just love how you’ve used the dies and the embossing folder makes the perfect background. I’ve seen these dies used before in colour but white on white is definitely my favourite. Pleased you liked my card too. I saw your question about the stamps, they are Card-io and the link is here: https://www.card-io.com/
I have never actually done a video which I must have a go at soon but Cardio have lots of video showing how to make this style of card so leaving you the link for that too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdIJC7relK0

  5. Hi Karen. I would never have thought of putting white on white, but it does look quite elegant, and using the glossy paper for the elf, certainly make him stand out. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #30

  6. That is one beautiful card Karen. Never done white on white mainly because mine would end up grey on white with glue smudges. Thank you for your visit. Ani
