Stampin’ Up! Clever Cats Twisted Easel Halloween Card

Hello everyone, and Happy T day to the gang at the Altered Book Lover. It’s been some time since I posted, but I’ve been creating with this new set called “Clever Cats” from Stampin’ Up and thought I’d share what I made. I wanted the cat to appear like he was flying over the moon and saw this fun A2 Twisted Easel Card, video by Ladybug stampin and was inspired to give it a try.

I ended up having to do the diagonal backwards to get him to fly in the right direction, but I think it turned out cute! The witch hat is from the Bear Ware 2 set sold by Ellen Hutson. I added a pumpkin ribbon, gold stars and rhinestones for bling, as well as a bat sticker inside on the writing spot.

The pumpkin was cut out and raised on pop dots so the card can sit open on it’s side for display this Halloween.

My drink of choice to share with the group is Newman’s own Special Blend coffee pod for the Keurig machine. Yum ~ some mornings I need two cups, and this is that kind of morning. The mug was purchased this summer from The Artist Gallery in Virginia Beach, created by Pam Grey. I love sea turtles, and the way she made the water move in the design and the color she chose made me have to buy it! I took a picture of how she decorated the bottom as well. It’s my new favorite mug. She makes a bee design with a honeycomb pattern as well.

Enjoy your week everyone!

  1. It’s so good to see you here again, Karen. You make the BEST cards. I loved the elf ones you posted in your previous post, too. Mojo looks on with approval. I can see why. I think your card fold is fabulous.

You won’t believe this. My foodie friend Sally gave me her BIG Keurig coffee maker. Each pod makes 4 cups. It was so big and took up so much room, I sent it to the Goodwill, but kept the French Roast pods. I absolutely adore that mug you bought. It is beautiful and yes, it shows such great movement. Thanks for sharing your Halloween card, your Keurig coffee, and your lovely new mug with us for T this Tuesday. SO glad to see you for T, too.

  2. Another wonderful card Karen, I’m so happy that Halloween is coming nearer! And coffee in the morning in that lovely mug sounds perfect! A keurig machine with coffee for 4 cups would be great for me! Happy T day, hugs, Valerie

  3. Hi Karen: The turtle mug is something I might easily have fallen for too. I know it is ridiculous but I swear that coffee tastes better in a beautiful mug. Anything beats paper takeout containers with plastic lids. Your Halloween card looks just about perfect to me.

  4. Glad to see you back for T Karen. Those stamps are lots of fun. I dug out my Halloween box today. You’ve inspired me to make some fun themed art. And I am loving your mug too. I would get that mug also. I love the turtle in the sea theme. Hope it was a great T Day Tuesday. hugs-Erika

  5. Lovely Halloween card – love the card shape and that cute fat cat. I LOVE Halloween cards and have been making a bunch of them.

Love your coffee cup too – great design so I can see why you love it. Two coffee days are the rule for me lately!

  6. I don’t think we have keurig coffee machines in Europe, but pod machines are becoming very popular. I see Nespresso pods in every shop.
I have to smile as I am Dutch and the Dutch word ‘keurig’ means neat or spic-and-span.
    Your card is great.
    Happy T-Day,
    Hugs,

  8. I love the way your posts are about crafting but also other bits of your life too! The card is just brilliant and the expression on that cat’s face just makes me chuckle. I’m not surprised you were drawn to that beautiful mug. The mug your beverage comes in is an important part of the pleasure of drinking it I think! Vicky x
