Sea Shell Tag

The theme at Thursday’s art date with Rain is to create with rough texture. I combined this challenge with Tag Tuesday’s challenge to use seashells this week.

My tag was created with a sand paper background. The crab is a jolee’s embellishment, and the silver piece was a clip on earring. I added a real shell, a rubber stamped shell as well as a shell brad along with a few other embellishments to complete.

~Enjoy your evening~

Hello! I'm a 50 something wife and mother of two girls ~ I started Blogging in March of 2011 on Blogger and just converted to WordPress in Dec 2019. I started paper crafting in 1995 when I first tried embossing with powder, I was so excited and couldn't believe it was so easy to make something so beautiful. Creativeseconds was started as a way of selling secondhand craft supplies and cards on Ebay and Etsy. You will find creative cards, tags, and paper crafting projects here as well as craft room organizational ideas. Follow along with me and comments are welcomed and appreciated.

  1. Wow, this is a fabulous tag Karen, and I love that you combined Tag Tuesday and Rain’s TAD. Love the mix of shells, and the sandpaper background is a great idea. Thanks so much for joining us at Tag Tuesday, much appreciated, hugs, Valerie

    1. Hi! Thank you for the kind words ~ WordPress let’s me “approve” new visitor comments to weed out spam 🙂 I have containers for different events/occasions and collect bits and pieces to make cards and tags with. This tag is going to go in my beach themed Junk Journal or “Treasure book” which sounds much prettier. I need to post more on how I organize my stash, and hope to do so this Fall. Thanks again for stopping by!

  4. Karen,

I believe this is our first time to connect. As you might have figured out I’ve been on a blogging hiatus this summer for the most part and this is why we haven’t crossed path before now and if we have then I apologize. My memory isn’t as good as it used to be.

What an interesting use for sandpaper! Another TAD participator used sandpaper in her artwork. Incidentally, your blog URL, this one, isn’t connected to your Gravatar profile and it’s also different from your WordPress sign in. Luckily, I found you on Rain’s linky party. You might want to consider updating Gravatar or to leave your direct link in comments for folks to find you. It’s easier to have away to hop over to a bloggers site directly from comments without having to worry about how did this person find me or if you do know like in this case TAD then it might discourage some to seek you out. I just wanted you to know so that you’ll get as many return visits as possible.

Thanks for visiting my humble little blog niche and have a doodletastic weekend, my dear!

    1. Thank you! I didn’t know what I could do to make a better connection between blogger and wordpress. I’ll have to figure out what you a “Gravatar” is 🙂 I didn’t even know I had one ~

  5. What a stunning tag Karen! I love the way you used sandpaper for the sandy background and natural twine at the top. The collage of shells is perfectly arranged with the postage stamp – and I just love the way you positioned that off the edge of the tag. Vicky x
