Clever Cats and a bit of Snark

I’m late to the T party today at the Altered Book Lover! My drink of choice is not a hot one today since it’s still 90′ and I’ve broken a sweat 3x’s already and it’s only 4:30pm. I had a small glass full of Green Goodness by Bolthouse Farms, and I’m pleased with the flavor. You can definitely taste the fresh fruit, especially the green apple. The Chardonnay I plan on enjoying soon with dinner.

I wanted to make sure I played with all the stamps from the New Stampin’ Up! set “clever cats” and found the perfect challenge to enter at Beyond the Blue. This weeks challenge is to make a card with only black and white and no other colors. I stamped the kitty, but then had to use a sharpie to get the image really black. I found the black and white patterned paper and a funny sentiment to add to my card front.

I made another quick CAS style card to enter the “H is for Hormonal” challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. Since I’m in the “Peri” phase of life, I’m thankfully still finding humor in the changes. I love this lady in the lounge chair and found the perfect sentiment for her current menopausal state of mind. I feel her pain as the words and the thoughts seem to come and go as they please these days, and I just keep smiling and crafting!

It’s hard to be nostalgic when you can’t remember anything!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

  1. The heat this summer has been crazy. I can relate to the breaking a sweat. Your Green Goddess looks a bit icky, but it sounds delicious when you read the label. And you can’t go wrong with a glass of wine. Loving the latest cards too. I hope it cools off for you, and you had a super T day Karen. Hugs-Erika

  2. There was once a play called “The Green Goddess” and all I know about it is that a salad dressing (with anchovies in it) was named for it. So that’s what “Green Goodness” reminded me of. The drink sounds good too.

  3. I would gladly take your 90s F. That is cool compared to our extreme heat of 102-108 F here. However, I certainly understand your problem. I just hug my AC and say how thankful I am for it and electricity.

I love your cat card. It is fabulous. That stamp set is adorable. And I think your snarky card is quite clever, too. You make great cards that are not too over the top and I like that.

I had to laugh at the Green Goodness. I originally misread it as Green Goddess, the salad dressing Mae referred to. It sure sounds refreshing, regardless what it is called (grin). Thanks for sharing it along with your cards, with us for T this Tuesday, dear Karen.

  6. I also read Green Goddess instead of Green Goodness. It sounds really delicious. And you can’t go wrong with a glass of Chardonnay!
Your cat is so funny. That is exactly what cats do: squeeze in any box.
    happy (belated) T-Day,

  7. Hi Karen, your drinks look great, that green ones sounds lovely. Here it’s cold and grey again, shivering instead of sweating! And I love those cards, so pretty! I can relate to the nostalgic one! Getting old sometimes sucks, but it’s better than the alternative! Have a great week, Karen, take care, hugs, Valerie

  8. Like so many before me I read Green Goddess first… I have to admit that so far I have necer tried one of tose green drinks, but reading the label of this one I might change my mind. I don’t envy you for the heat am thankful that despite the rest of our state has been sweltering, here near to the coast it has been a pretty mellow summer so far, with only a few really hot days. I’m thankful for that since we don’t have AC. The smoke we sometimes get is more worrisome, but not as bad as it was last year. Yet.

  9. I’m thinking that first card works for the Sisterhood, too – you know when those jeans that fit fine in the morning suddenly seem three sizes smaller? 😀 The second card definitely embraces peri- and beyond, lol. Two great cards! Thanks for joining the fun at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!

  10. Love the cards, ‘specialy the cat in a box!. Sorry for being late for T for Tuesday…but I’m early for this coming weeks post! I once tried green tea, I guess that’s the closest I’ll ever come to tasting anything green, but no, not for me. Happy Belated or early T Day

  11. Such fun cards Karen! Brilliant images and I love the sentiments you chose for both of them. You definitely gave me a chuckle 🙂 Despite the autumn having already arrived here, Mother Nature has suddenly decided to turn up the temperatures again and poor Eva was already beginning to grow her winter coat!
